Mountain Biking Team Receives Guest Truck and Van Sponsorship

A team of mountain bike racers from the Midlands are hoping for the perfect flow after securing sponsorship from Guest Truck and Van.

Team Powerful, which was launched two years ago by Howard Todd - a West Bromwich-based parts delivery driver for the company - has been provided with a van from his employer so that they can transport their bikes and equipment to and from events.

Guest Truck and Van has also financially sponsored the team, which will help the six-strong group  meet their costs for branded kit.

Howard said: “I’ve long been interested in mountain biking and I came across an advert for a downhill mountain race series, which was run by the Racers Guild Racing Team and accredited by British Cycling.

“I decided to enter and thoroughly enjoyed it and to my surprise came in the top 10 of my category. I met so many like-minded people, fellow competitors and new cycling mates that season that I decided to start a brand new team called Team Powerful.

“We've been competing for two seasons now, and have some brilliant talent within this mixed team of six riders. Last season all our racers ended up in the top 10 of their category and we also secured two podium positions.

“We couldn’t do this without the support of sponsors and we are very grateful to Guest Truck and Van for its backing. It’s going to be a busy race season and having the van will make transporting our bikes and equipment so much easier.”

The team recently competed in the Stile Cop Race Series in Staffordshire and the Onza Race Series, Forest of Dean.

Meanwhile, Team Powerful’s father and son duo Alan and Ethan Dowell are heading to Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps this July for the UCC Mégavalance - one of the many mountain biking events of the Grandes Rousses summer season. It is also the longest downhill race in the world!

Rob Spittle, Managing Director of Guest Truck and Van, said: “We are only too pleased to support Howard and his team mates by offering van and we wish them the very best of luck as they compete this year.”
